~CNY 2008 with Family & Relatives~

Chinese new year family and relatives dinner.. it has been so many years we didn't catch up as a big family to have a proper sit down dinner. Of course, we still loose out eldest and third aunties, youngest uncle. Can't remember where's the exact name of the restaurant but it is around the Taman Mayang the plaza area.

We were waiting for our round to have the dinner and we booked the second round as it was really jam packed outside of the restaurant. Everyone of us were just standing or sitting on the chairs to be seated inside. Errrmmm, can't wait for the food actually.

As I have said earlier on on my blog that "Yee Sang" is the open ceremony for the chinese new year eve's dinner onwards till the 15th day but of course I was working on the 15th day so didn't get to find my soulmate at the river side. Sad sad!!!

This is one of my favourite dish of all time, yummiiiieeeeee... shark fins soup. Oh well, I actually love to drink soup all of my life especially when I am sick. Soup and chicken rice are my best buddies.
Steam fish is a must.
Prawns must be in the menu too.
Chicken fried with onion was just an extra option, so it was not the actual dish in the menu.

Yes, you love duck.. we have the duck. Anyone wants the duck brain???

Hhhrmm.. this is a surprise. It's a vegetarian dish, when you cut it into half, there are more veges inside. Cool huh?

Missed out another rice dish but never mind, cause I was too full to even remember to take a photo of it and it's rice at the last dish before desert while we already asked for some steamed rice. So, this are the desert. We have a red bean glutinous ball and red bean paste deep fried and the "Leng Chi Kang" style desert soup. I think I haven't eaten desert for few weeks since chinese new year.

~CNY 2008 with Bro & Karen~

This is a dinner with my brother & Karen. First stop, 'yee sang' operation as we have to 'low low sang' (meaning by use the chopticks, stick it to the food and raise it up while doing the wishlist or good wishes for everyone). At least minimum two times in chinese new year for every year actually the more 'yee sang' the better it is for the whole year. 'Yee sang' is a chinese new year traditional dish aka a la carte over in Malaysia & Singapore as it is a wishing well for the whole year.

The dishes after the 'yee sang' is drunken chicken, garlic fried beans, kai lan oyster sauce.

My brother - Kenny, Karen and I showing off the pattern of eating. I wonder why I always take pictures while people eating maybe it's the funny expression or bad image of them eating. Hrrmmm... interesting!

Yes, the live & life chicken aka Rooster in the cage at the restaurant called La La Chong Damansara. Very big chicken and knows what it means Time To Take Photos

Wild dog walking on the street near the restaurant and I can tell you that it is NORMAL!

~Happy CNY 2008~

Oh yah, another year another time togather all relatives and friends in this world to celebrate the new new chinese new year of 2008.
Anyway, I have been around with the families but relatives from Australia and Kedah came down to celebrate together. Had a good CNY eve dinner with them after so many years of not celebrating with them. Eventually, I missed the steamboat CNY I had back in Melbourne. You can say most of the time we ate steamboat dinners for special occasions even the darn hot weather was 42 degrees high. I think it's the easiest to cook and buy the food and eat to wait for it to cook and wash up and just that's it.
So, I'll upload the photos soon while you guys and gals get your ang paos while it is finishing the 15th days of CNY. Chiao weezzzz and happy CNY people.

~CNY 2007 Pictures~

Setting up the food and place it nicely so everyone can have a go for it easily.

Ok - everyone cooked something. See the silver pot in the middle. That's mine and I did - errrr.... Can't remember. Ohhh yah.. it was bee hoon kerabu with sambal and got prawn crackers from my restaurant - previous work place. So, we have prawns, chickens, vegetarian pancake and meat pancake, something else too. Can't remember what else we had. Of course, rice to go with the food.

This is julia Loh - knew her since 2000 in Inti International College Penang - taking HSC - of course, I ended up not really studying cause I was not suppose to be there at all - so I failed the papers. Then, went to KL to study what I really dream of wanting to study - Diploma of Media, Communication and film studies.

Wing - one of Julia's Hong Kong friend but she stayed in South Africa for quite a long time and goes to high school there until she comes here to finish off her degree.

Priscilia - from Deakin too and Julia's friend as well. Hrmmm.. can say that it's all Julia's friends that I know. She's from Hong Kong too.

Wing's older sister - sorry about her eyes cause she was closing it accidentally as she was talking. But that's what I have from her in CNY celebration at Julia's house at BoxHill.

Lastly, that's me with my second time long hair since I was 12 years old. It took me nearly a year and a half to have this long. But it just feels funny cause It's not heavy at all compared to when I was younger.
